Electrical inspection and testing

Inspection and testing shows the condition of an electrical installation and identifies any issues that need attention, whether you are buying, selling, letting or simply want peace of mind.

What's involved

Inspection and testing shows the real condition of an electrical installation. We check the wiring, the fuse board, protective devices and earthing, test each circuit, and look for damage, overloading and anything that was added without being done properly.

It's worth doing when you're buying, selling or letting a property, when a house hasn't been checked in years, before adding a big load like an EV charger or heat pump, or when something just doesn't seem right.

You get clear findings: what's fine, what needs attention and how urgent it is, explained in plain English, with a quote for any remedial work if it's needed.

Testing: common questions

Something not covered here? Get in touch and ask.

How often should electrics be tested?

There's no single rule for every home, but an installation that hasn't been checked in ten years or more, or a property that has changed hands, is worth testing. Rental and commercial properties benefit from regular checks.

How long does an inspection take?

For a typical home, a few hours, and the power will be off for part of that time. Larger homes and commercial premises take longer.

Will you fix what you find?

If you want us to. We explain the findings and quote for any remedial work, and you decide.
